I love music Posted July 27, 2008 Report Share Posted July 27, 2008 I don't enter these comps so I'm not sure what hosting involves but I could maybe come up with some ideas and guidelines for people if anyone wanted me to. Sounds good to me. Sounds good to me too. I'd love a fiction challenge. Okay, try this. (I’m not sure if someone is supposed to say if it’s okay for me to host? ) FANFIC CHALLENGE FANFIC CHALLENGE SUBJECT: CHANGES CHALLENGE: Write a one-shot where SOMETHING CHANGES for a H&A character or characters. I know that might seem a wide open subject but I think (hope) it should generate more entries. Changes might mean anything from a character finding out she’s pregnant to a character dying her hair pink, even to Jack and Martha finding a lost puppy on the beach and taking it home! Changes can mean almost ANYTHING. Stretch your imagination. LENGTH Fics should be one-shots of no more than 2000 words That doesn’t mean they HAVE to be 2000 words. Write much less if you want to but try not to go way overboard with the 2000 limit. 2020 could probably be overlooked but not 3000. RESTRICTIONS Because this is a H&A fanfic challenge, there should be AT LEAST one H&A character whether or not they are still in the series. Other than that, there’s no limit on the number of characters (whether H&A or your own creations). It should also be set in Summer Bay. Entries should be below an A rating. Entries should not contain spoilers. CLOSING DATE FOR SUBMITTING ENTRIES 30 Aug 2008 midnight UK time. (Sorry I can’t make it 31st but that’s a Sunday and I have to be up for work the next day). PROOFING I don’t have a problem with anyone consulting a proof reader for their fic tho I can’t offer to do any proofing because of limited time. Stories that are submitted will be proofed by me for spelling and grammar before they are posted in the fanfic challenge entry thread but NOT sub-edited (for the benefit of younger readers, sub-editing means when a fic is slightly altered by a proof reader). Okay then. *wonders what she's got herself into..* Kat, could you move the current Fanfic Challenge Entry post and their replies to its own thread if that's possible? With this thread being so long it might get buried in all the earlier posts from past challenges and it would be easier for people to find the current entry challenge on the first page. Thanks. Skykat Posted July 28, 2008 Report Share Posted July 28, 2008 I have started a new thread for the current challenge but I've closed it because I think its easier to just use this thread for discussion, otherwise we might aswell just move everything into a new thread and that kind of defeats the point eventually. Staff members who frequent this thread will be responsible for adding any questions and answers which may occur in this thread, into the new one and one of us will open it for you ILM to post the entries in when its time. You can submit entries whenever you like, I'll give each a number (and a title if there isn't one! ) and eventually they'll all be posted together on 30 Aug (identified by number only) for people to read and vote.
