She isn't accepted with the usual love and enthusiasm... This young lady is none other than the sister of the one and only Josh West! Valerie Scott is a die-hard cop. She's 21 years old and nothing can bring her down... Or so she believes. Other characters include Sally, Brad, Ric, Mattie etc. BTTB rating: T Genre: Mixture Does story include spoilers: No Any warnings: V/D SC Summary: Laughs and tears, love and hate, mysteries and shocks - all in Summer Bay! CHAPTER 1 PETER: Jack, the new cop should be arriving today. JACK: Who is he... the new cop? PETER: (Chuckles) She is a rooky from the city. JACK: Oh.. I did not know . (chuckles) When is she coming? PETER: She should be arriving any second... (His words aren't cold yet, when a lovely girl with blonde hair enters through the door....) PETER: Hello. VALERIE: Morning sir. Constable Scott reporting for duty. PETER: Smiles You don't have to be so formal - you can call me Peter. VALERIE: Sorry Smiles back Nice to meet you Peter. PETER: And this is Jack Holden JACK: Nice to meet you... VALERIE: The pleasure is mine... PETER: Jack would u mind showing Valerie around the bay..? JACK: Not at all. PETER: Right, I'll be in my office. Peter leaves. Jack looks at Valerie. JACK: Right... so let me show you Summer Bay. (They walk out of the station.) SUMMER BAY HIGH - Brad's office. (He is sitting at his desk. There is a soft knock.) BRAD: Come in. Sally enters, holding a heap of files. SALLY: Hey. I just brought you some paperwork. BRAD: Nooo! Take it away! She laughs and puts the file on his desk. SALLY: I could always help you get through them. Brad stands up and puts his arms around Sally's waist. He kisses her neck softly. BRAD: Do you think we'll do anything if we're alone tonight? SALLY: Brad! She turns around and they kiss passionately. The door opens. MITZI: Oh, sorry! I didn't see anything! She backs out and Sally looks at Brad. SALLY: I'm going to leave now and let you deal with the new teacher. She kisses him quickly. SALLY: See you tonight? BRAD: Of course. I love you. SALLY: I love you too. Sally leaves and Mitzi comes in. MITZI: Hi... BRAD: Hi... sorry about that... Mitzi laughs. MITZI: I'm Mitzi West. BRAD: Brad Armstrong. Welcome to Summer Bay. THE DINER Jack and Valerie enter. JACK: And this is the diner. Where you get the best food in the bay! Want to try it? VALERIE: Sure! I rarely say no to good food! They both laugh and Jack leads her to a table. JACK: So what do you think? VALERIE: Well the bay is really a nice place so far smiles at jack. JACK: Well do you have a place to stay yet? VALERIE: Sure, I am staying at the caravan park! Smiles JACK: Have you met Sally yet? She is the owner of the caravan park! VALERIE: No not yet but I have spoken to her over the phone she sounds nice. JACK: The she is… COLLEEN: Morning loves! JACK: Morning Colleen, This is Valerie she is new in town COLLEEN: Welcome to summer bay! Smiles at Jack and Valerie VALERIE: Thanks nice to meet you COLLEEN: Can I get u anything? JACK: Coffee please? VALERIE: Same here thank! JACK: Colleen can we also have some of Leah's chocolate cake please? COLLEEN: Sure love. Looks at them and walks away AT THE POLICE STATION – Peter's office (A fax arrives informing the station a prisoner has been released) PETER: What? FITZY: What is wrong Peter? PETER: The prison has realized a prisoner on early parole! And they should have known better, this guy is a trouble-maker. FITZY: That is strange! PETER: I will call them now and ask them what happened! SUMMER BAY HIGH – Brad's office (Standing at the door talking to Mitzi) BRAD: That is your job here at Summer Bay High hope you will feel quite at home here! MITZI: Thanks Brad I'm sure I will be! BRAD: Well I certainly hope so! MITZI: Do u perhaps now of any nice places to stay? BRAD: Yes, Sally Fletcher owns the caravan park here in the bay and it is quite nice there! MITZI: Sally Fletcher...? Oh, that's... BRAD: Yeah, that's her. MITZI: You married? BRAD: Not yet. Well be sure to ask if you are struggling...! MITZI: Will do!
